Selwood hurts hamstring in AFL

Geelong captain Joel Selwood has hurt his right hamstring in the opening term of the pre-season game against Melbourne.

Geelong captain Joel Selwood has suffered a hamstring injury and is out of the AFL pre-season game against Melbourne in Alice Springs.

Selwood grabbed the back of his right leg as he changed direction in the first term of the Friday night game.

The star midfielder was subbed out of the game immediately.

It was his first game of the year after missing their opening hit-out with a foot injury.
