The federal government has hit its first major roadblock in getting some major parts of its budget through the Senate after the new Senate line-up takes its place on July the 1st.
The Greens have joined with Labor and some Independents in deciding to block the legislation in the upper house.
As Amanda Cavill reports other revenue-raising measures also appear to at risk and if the impasse can't broken the possibility of a mini-budget being needed is not out of the question.
