Senate calls for details of coalition deal

The Senate has voted for a Labor motion that calls on the government to produce the details of a new coalition agreement with The Nationals.

The Senate has called on the government to reveal details of a new coalition agreement Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has struck with The Nationals.

Opposition Senate leader Penny Wong said Australians were entitled to know what was in the agreement, which includes moving responsibility for water to the agriculture portfolio.

The Senate wants documents tabled by Thursday afternoon.
