Senate rejects Labor attack on Nash

Labor's attempt to block cabinet minister Fiona Nash from procedural duties has been rejected by the Senate.

Senator Nash has been under attack from the opposition as the High Court determines whether she is eligible to remain in federal parliament following revelations she is a dual citizen.

But crossbenchers joined with the federal government to defeat the motion, insisting it was a matter for the courts to decide.
