Senate to test cyberbullying laws mettle

An inquiry into online bullying will be launched by the Senate following a successful motion moved by NXT Senator Skye Kakoschke-Moore.

The strength of Australian cyber bullying laws will be put to the test following the launch of a Senate inquiry into online violence and abuse.

A motion by NXT senator Skye Kakoschke-Moore, who argues that Australian laws needed to keep pace with changing technology, was approved on Thursday.

"As a community, we need to reject and condemn bullying in all its forms," she said in a statement on Thursday.
