Independent senator Tim Storer has not changed his mind in opposing the Turnbull government's company tax cut plan after last week's Senate hearing into what benefits it might bring.
"I see the benefits as still being modest, relative to the cost. And in the face of the budget deficit and overall government debt, I do not think that it's prudent to undertake it in isolation from other tax reform," Senator Storer told ABC television on Sunday.
The government fell short of sufficient numbers to get the legislation that would reduce the company tax rate to 25 per cent from 30 per cent for all businesses through the upper house just before Easter.
