Kosovo broke away from Serbia following violent conflict in the late 1990s and the long membership process has been slowed by Serbia's refusal to recognise Kosovo's independence.

 

But Central Europe correspondent Kerry Skyring told Kristina Kukolja the two sides appear to be making progress on some of their most entrenched differences.
