The State Emergency Service (SES) is urging residents in many parts of NSW to stay indoors on Sunday as strong winds continue to cause damage.
A cold front moving across the state brought strong winds to Sydney on Saturday afternoon, while snow flurries fell in the Blue Mountains.
While conditions eased overnight, the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) says winds will pick up again on Sunday.
The SES received more than 430 calls for help overnight, mostly from the Sydney and Illawarra areas.
A falling tree hit an ambulance station in Liverpool in Sydney's south-west on Saturday afternoon, destroying five cars and an ambulance.
A roof was blown off a home in Kurnell in the city's south, the SES reports.
Meanwhile, the SES received reports of a rugby league match being played in the snow in the Blue Mountains.
During a lull on Sunday morning, the SES advised people to prepare their properties and to secure or stow any items that could become projectiles.
Strong winds are forecast for the Illawarra, Central Tablelands, Hunter, Southern Tablelands and the Snowy Mountains on Sunday, although Sydney has been taken off the Bureau of Meteorology severe weather warning.
The BOM predicts top wind gusts for the state of 104km/h at Nowra, 109km/h at Thredbo and 93km/h in Moss Vale in the southern highlands.
Sydney can expect winds of 60km/h later on Sunday, with gusts up to 90-100km/h.
"It's a day to stay indoors," said SES spokeswoman Becky Gollings.
"When it's not too windy, have a look around the yard and tie down garden furniture and trampolines, and park cars under cover," she told AAP.
"It's not the day for sightseeing."
