What do you get when you cross two pieces of childhood nostalgia from the TV set and the arcade? Quite possibly one of the most educational brawlers the internet has ever seen.
‘Sesame Street Fighter’ is an online game that takes your favourite characters from the long-running children’s television series and pits them against each other in a video game-inspired arena.
The popular educational muppets assume the identities from the Capcom classic: Cookie Monster is E. Honda, Grover is Dhalsim, Elmo is M. Bison, Oscar is Blanka, Bert is Ryu and Ernie is Ken, all duking it out in 8-bit glory.

In typical Sesame Street style, this is an educational game, too: the characters battle it out by typing words that appear on the screen in a bid to improve spelling and keyboard skills.
The character ‘mash ups’ draw their inspiration from a series of pictures uploaded to deviantArt, a popular online community that showcases user-made artwork.
The browser-based game is unauthorised by either Children’s Television Workshop or Capcom.
