Seven people have been charged over an all-in brawl that broke out at a children's play centre in Sydney's west.

Four people were taken into custody following raids on Tuesday morning, and another three handed themselves in to police.

All seven have been charged with offences ranging from affray to reckless wounding in company and assault.

It is alleged a violent clash broke out on June 20 and raged for several minutes involving two families after a man pulled a seven-year-old girl's hair at Lollipop's Playland in Wetherill Park.

The families had been celebrating separate children's birthdays.

"The behaviour that we saw at the play centre is just something that I cannot understand," Fairfield Police commander Superintendent Peter Lennon said on Tuesday.

"There were a number of children that can be seen on the (CCTV) footage that were extremely upset."

The incident was allegedly prompted by a minor dispute between two young girls and it escalated when several adults became involved.

It is believed a dozen people were involved in the brawl but police say they do not expect to lay any more charges.
