The world's best male surfers will be forced to wait another day to compete in the waters of Fiji after a seventh consecutive lay day was called.
Swells of just one metre met world surf league organisers at Cloudbreak on Monday morning, with conditions expected to improve later this week as the event nears closer to its Friday finish time.
"There was a little swell this weekend but it was shredded from the onshore wind so wasn't really good enough," commissioner Kieren Perrow said.
"This morning again it's super clean but there's just not enough to get underway so we'll be off for the day."
It's unclear whether the swell will be big enough to resume come Tuesday, however conditions are expected to be big enough on Wednesday and Thursday before it grows even further for the Friday finale.
When competition resumes, the current world No.1, Australian Matt Wilkinson, will go head-to-head against Brazil's Alejo Muniz in heat 12 of round three.
Before that, heat nine will be an all-Australian affair when Mick Fanning meets Adam Melling.
Other Australians scheduled for action are Matt Banting, Josh Kerr, Taj Burrow and Adrian Buchan.
