Sex shop held up near Shorten campaigning in Burt

An armed robber held up an AdultShop.com store in the Perth suburb of Gosnells as Opposition Leader Bill Shorten campaigned nearby.

An armed robber held up an adult sex shop as Opposition Leader Bill Shorten held a press conference nearby in the newly created electorate of Burt in Perth's southeast.

Police said an armed robber stole cash from the AdultShop.com store on Albany Highway, Gosnells just before 10am then fled the scene.

Mr Shorten was less than 100 metres away in a nearby medical centre, promising a Labor government would introduce legislation to parliament to enshrine public ownership of Medicare within its first 100 days in power.
