Sharon Stone is suing a Hollywood producer for money she claims she was offered as part of a film deal that went sour.
The Basic Instinct star claims movie mogul Bob Yari asked her to falsify US documents so she could film a new Ernest Hemingway biopic in Cuba - and when she turned him down, he refused to hand over the $US500,000 ($A557,009.97) she claims she was promised.
According to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ.com, the actress needed legal clearance to take the trip to Cuba and Yari asked her to lie to get the permission she needed, suggesting her travel plans were part of "a cultural endeavour".
Stone, who was initially cast as Hemingway's wife Mary in the film, called Papa, is suing for the $US500,000.
