West Indies off-spinner Shane Shillingford has been banned from bowling in international matches due to an illegal action.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the suspension on Monday following an independent biomechanical analysis of his action - and that of teammate Marlon Samuels - in Perth.
The pair were reported during the Windies' crushing second Test loss to India in Mumbai last month in Sachin Tendulkar's 200th and final Test.
The analysis showed that Shillingford's standard off-break delivery and doosra exceeded the 15 degrees of elbow extension allowed under ICC laws.
His suspension will last until he has proven he has remedied his action in a fresh analysis.
The report on Samuels concluded that his standard off-break is legal but his quicker deliveries exceeded the 15 degrees level of tolerance.
Therefore, Samuels is allowed to bowl in international cricket but can't use his quicker ball.
The independent analyses of Shillingford and Samuels were performed by associate professor Jacque Alderson and her team at the School of Sport Science, Exercise and Health at the University of Western Australia in Perth on November 29.
The players have the right to appeal the ICC's decisions within 14 days.
Samuels and Shillingford have previously been reported and suspended from bowling in international cricket.
Samuels was reported in February 2008 and resumed bowling in international cricket in September 2011, while Shillingford was reported in November 2010 and resumed bowling in June 2011.
