Shop owners wary of Elizabeth Quay compo

Shop owners at Perth's Barrack Square, affected by the construction of Elizabeth Quay, are sceptical of the government's full-rent relief promise.

Business owners at Perth's Barrack Square are sceptical of the state government's promise to compensate them for disruption caused by the construction of Elizabeth Quay.

Cafe owner Brian Molnar said he had not received any official notice or details of the full-rent relief promised by transport minister Dean Nalder, whose department is the landlord for the riverside area.

Opposition spokesman Paul Papalia said Mr Nalder should visit the site to see the impact of the construction rather than asking shop owners to meet him at his office.
