Shoppers spend up at Westfield

Leisure and fashion sales have helped give Westfield's malls in the US, Britain and Europe a boost in the September quarter.

Shoppers are spending up at Westfield's malls in the United States, Britain and Europe.

The retail giant on Thursday reported its third quarter specialty retail sales rose 6.7 per cent.

The biggest sellers included leisure goods and fashion.

Westfield Corporation, which spun off the now separately listed Scentre Group in 2014, in August announced a first half net profit of $US466 million.
