Shorten confident of Gray's future

Gary Gray will be the Labor candidate for Brand despite a challenge against him, says Bill Shorten.

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten says he is confident Gary Gray will be endorsed for the WA seat of Brand.

Left faction powerbrokers in Western Australia are gunning for Mr Gray, calling on him to sign a loyalty pledge to the state branch, which he has refused to do.

"I am very confident Gary Gray will be the Labor candidate for Brand at the next election - he does a good job," Mr Shorten told AAP on Wednesday.
