Shorten gees up union movement

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has told trade unionists he believes in the fair distribution of national income.

Federal Labor leader Bill Shorten has told trade union delegates they should be proud of their history and fighting for workers.

"What unions do really well is they tell it how it really is," he told the ACTU Congress in Melbourne on Wednesday.

"Like all of you, I believe in the fair distribution of national income, the creative productive outcome of what working people contribute every day."
