Shot fired at couple in car in Perth

A couple were eating takeaway food in their car in Perth's northern suburbs when a man fired a gun into the rear door, WA police say.

A couple who were eating takeaway food in a car parked in an alleyway in Perth's northern suburbs say a man banged on the window then fired a gun into the rear door.

The 42-year-old man and his 38-year-old female partner were sitting in their Ford Falcon off Whitehouse Drive in Koondoola at about 8.30pm (WST) on Saturday when a man banged on the driver's window with what they believe was a firearm.

Police say he spoke to the couple, then fired the weapon into the rear door of the car on the driver's side.

The victims fled and called police.

The offender is described as fair skinned, about 175-180cm tall and of medium-thin build.

He also had a goatee beard, and was wearing a blue hoodie and jeans.

The car has been seized for forensic examination.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact police.
