Shot fired during NSW home invasion

Four people have escaped uninjured after a man fired a shot during a home invasion on the NSW south coast.

Police are looking for a man who fired a shot during a home invasion south of Sydney.

The balaclava-clad man allegedly entered a unit on Peterborough Avenue in Warilla shortly after midnight when he discharged a firearm.

The round hit a freezer in the kitchen.

Officers have been told the man left the unit soon after and was last seen running north towards a vehicle on View Street.

The four people inside the home at the time were not injured, police said.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to call Lake Illawarra Police Station.
