Collingwood have allayed fears skipper Scott Pendlebury is suffering from viral meningitis.
In an Instagam post on Thursday, Pendlebury's wife Alex reported the Pies' captain had been suffering from the debilitating condition on the eve of the finals.
However, a Collingwood spokesperson cleared up the matter on Friday, club doctors diagnosing him with a mild viral illness that wouldn't have kept him from taking the field at the weekend had the Pies been playing.
