They are unbeaten on the road in four games but Silva does not want his side to rest on their laurels ahead of Saturday's trip to champions Chelsea.
"Obviously it's great to look at the table and see what position we are in at the moment," the Portuguese boss told reporters on Thursday.
"It's too early now, it's not important. Everybody knows what our goal is and I haven't changed my words since my first day (here). We take everything game by game.
"You want to compete every match and that's our way, it's important we show our ambition during the matches."
Silva said he has spoken with club captain Troy Deeney over his claims that Arsenal lacked fighting spirit after Watford secured a 2-1 win over the north London side last weekend.
"Deeney knows what my opinion is about what he said. I want to end this now. My opinion stays between me and him. I spoke with him about everything," Silva added.
When asked whether Deeney has taken the feedback on board, Silva replied: "We'll see the next days and next match as well and see what happens."
Watford's opponents Chelsea surrendered a two-goal lead before scrambling a 3-3 draw in the Champions League with AS Roma on Wednesday.
They have also suffered back-to-back league defeats by leaders Manchester City and basement side Crystal Palace to leave them one place below Watford in the standings with 13 points.
