Nine days out from the netball World Cup in Sydney, there are still questions that remain to be answered for the Silver Ferns.
Despite three comprehensive wins, two over world No.6 South Africa and the other a 60-goal pasting of seventh-ranked Fiji, there are still some lingering doubts that need to be resolved.
Silver Ferns skipper Casey Kopua, getting back to her best after a nine-month injury break, says three games in six days provided a taste of what to expect at the world championships.
"It's been great court time for us, just to get the combinations out there and have the general time working together," she said.
"There's still a little bit of the unknown in what people can do, but I think the way we do play, and the way we can play, will bring the best out in each other."
New Zealand's success depends as much on defensive pressure as it does on shooting accuracy and if there's not enough turnover ball, there won't be enough goals.
"In the first Test against South Africa, we didn't get enough ball and we didn't do our jobs properly," Kopua said.
"It's just that defensive end again: we need to keep getting ball, and any ball we do get - because you don't get much - needs to be scored."
The Silver Ferns have two matches to ease into the world championships, against ninth-ranked Barbados and world No.10 Trinidad and Tobago, before they hit defending champions Australia in pool play.
Kopua admits her team will have to improve significantly across the court by then.
"Whenever you do have those tougher games, everybody lifts and we know that our performance against South Africa and Fiji is not what it will need to be against Australia."
