Silverchef lifts full year guidance

Silverchef has increased its full year earnings forecast after reporting a 45 per cent rise in half year profit to $10.3 million.

The Silverchef Group has raised its full year profit forecast after a 45 per cent lift in first half earnings.

The group, which rents equipment to mainly hospitality businesses, made a net profit of $10.3 million in the six months to December 31, up from $7.1 million a year ago.

The company now expects its full year profit to be in the range of $23 million and $24 million, up from previous guidance of $18.5 million to $19.5 million.

The Silverchef made $100.7 million in revenue in the half, compared to $83 million a year ago.

"We again delivered strong period-on-period growth in the hospitality asset base and the overall outlook for that sector remains buoyant," executive chairman Allan English said.

Growth in the group's rental finance service for businesses outside hospitality had also exceeded expectations, he added.

The company declared a fully franked interim dividend of 17 cents a share, up from 16 cents in the perior corresponding period.
