Simmons scores second NBA double-double

Aussies Ben Simmons and Aron Baynes have faced off as Philadelphia lost to Boston, with Simmons scoring his second double-double in as many NBA games.

Australian rookie Ben Simmons has scored his second double-double in as many NBA games for Philadelphia but it wasn't enough as Boston beat the 76ers 102-92.

Simmons had 11 points and 11 rebounds on Friday night while the Celtics' Aussie big man Aron Baynes scored 10 points and eight rebounds in just 13 minutes on the floor.

LeBron James has scored 24 points and eight assists as Cleveland beat Milwaukee 116-97.

Kyle Korver hit three straight shots from beyond the arc in a decisive third-quarter run, finishing the game with 17 points.

Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo had 34 points on 15-of-22 shooting, along with eight rebounds and eight assists, with Malcolm Brogdon adding 16 points.

Jamal Crawford scored all 17 his points in the fourth quarter to help Minnesota hold off visiting Utah 100-97.

Andrew Wiggins had 21 points and Karl-Anthony Towns added 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Timberwolves in their first victory of the season.

Ricky Rubio had 19 points and 10 assists against his former team while Rodney Hood scored 20 and Australian Joe Ingles had 14.

CJ McCollum scored 28 points to lead Portland past Indiana 114-96, while Damian Lillard added 18 points.

John Wall scored 20 of his 27 points in the second half and added 10 assists to help Washington beat Detroit 115-111.

Otto Porter led the Wizards with 28 points while Reggie Jackson scored 21 for Detroit.

Dwight Howard had 20 points and 15 rebounds in his first home game with Charlotte as the Hornets rallied to beat Atlanta 109-91.

Kemba Walker scored 26 points for Charlotte while Dennis Schroder led the Hawks with 25 points.

D'Angelo Russell, Trevor Booker and DeMarre Carroll each scored 17 points in Brooklyn's 126-121 win over Orlando in their home opener.

Nikola Vucevic scored a career-high 41 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Magic.

George Hill scored 21 points and Sacramento beat Dallas 93-88 for their first victory of the season.

Harrison Barnes scored 24 points as the Mavericks lost back-to-back games.

Klay Thomspon scored 31 points, Stephen Curry added 28 and Golden State easily erased a 15-point first-half deficit to beat New Orleans 128-120.

Kevin Durant added 22 points for the Warriors, who won for the first time this young season after dropping their opener to Houston.

New Orleans is still looking for its first victory after two games.

Lonzo Ball barely missed a triple-double with 29 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists in his second NBA game and Los Angeles held on to beat Phoenix 132-130.

The Suns had a chance to tie it with 1.2 seconds to play but TJ Warren missed the first of two free throws.

That meant he had to miss the second intentionally and hope for a rebound, but the Suns couldn't get a decent shot off before the buzzer.
