Ben Simmons has gotten bragging rights over fellow Australian Patty Mills when his Philadelphia 76ers scored an easy win over the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA.

The 76ers won 97-78 on Saturday and Simmons was the game's top scorer with 24 points from his 31 minutes, and he also recorded five rebounds and seven assists.

Mills' night mirrored that of his team, as he only put five points on the board while coming off the bench.

The victory was just Philadelphia's second in San Antonio since 1986, and it was achieved without injured guards JJ Redick (leg) and Jerryd Bayless (wrist).

Elsewhere, Donovan Mitchell top-scored for Utah with 26 points but Australian Joe Ingles was in the thick of the action with 11 points and four rebounds as the Jazz enjoyed a 97-93 win over the Toronto Raptors.

Australians Thon Maker (11 points, four rebounds) and Matthew Dellavedova (three points, two rebounds, five assists) played their part in Milwaukee's 116-91 rout over Brooklyn on Friday night.

Giannis Antetokounmpo returned to action after sitting out two games with a sore right knee and scored 41 points for the Bucks.

Antetokounmpo hit 14 of 20 shots and made 10 of 11 from the free throw line. He flirted with a triple-double, as well, grabbing 13 rebounds to go with seven assists.

LeBron James scored 26 points as part of a triple-double and JR Smith had 23 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers rolled past the Indiana Pacers for a 115-108 victory.

James added 11 assists and 10 rebounds and Smith hit a season-high seven 3-pointers as the Cavaliers beat Indiana for the first time in four meetings this season.

Kemba Walker scored eight points in a 64-second span late in the game as the Charlotte Hornets overcame the Atlanta Hawks for a 121-110 win.

Lou Williams registered 40 points, 10 assists and four steals to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a 109-100 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.

New Orleans' 115-113 win over Houston came at a high price, with All-Star DeMarcus Cousins tearing his left ACL, and there are reports out of the Pelicans camp that he will be out for the season.

New York centre Enes Kanter scored 20 points and Kristaps Porzingis added 19 when the New York Knicks ended a seven-game road trip with a 107-85 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

The Knicks shot 48.2 per cent from the floor and limited the Suns to 35.1 per cent.

Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum combined for 49 points and the Portland Trail Blazers broke things open in the fourth quarter en route to a 107-93 triumph over the Dallas Mavericks.

Portland did not have the services of starting small forward Evan Turner, who was not with the team for "personal reasons."

And the Los Angeles Lakers used a series of late runs to down the Chicago Bulls 108-103, their fourth straight victory without star rookie Lonzo Ball.
