Simon McKeon to retire as AMP chairman

Rabobank New Zealand chairman John Palmer will become interim chairman of AMP following Simon McKeon's retirement in May.

AMP chairman Simon McKeon will retire from the financial service provider's board at May's annual general meeting.

Rabobank New Zealand chairman John Palmer will postpone his own retirement from the board to become interim chairman until a permanent replacement is found.

Mr McKeon says he is retiring due to changed personal circumstances.

"I have every confidence in the strategy and management team and believe that AMP is well positioned to grow over the long term," Mr McKeon said in a statement on Tuesday.
