Senior Liberal Arthur Sinodinos is prepared to serve in Malcolm Turnbull's new ministry, even though the NSW corruption watchdog has yet to hand down a report about him.
Mr Sinodinos was a witness before hearings of the Independent Commission Against Corruption last year, relating to his previous work with Australian Water Holdings.
"I wouldn't be making myself available if I didn't think that I could deal with anything that might potentially come out of those processes," the former assistant treasurer told ABC TV on Sunday.
Senator Sinodinos resigned as assistant treasurer last December, pending the outcome of the ICAC inquiry.
On Sunday he insisted he was a witness, rather than a person of interest, but conceded "a lot of stuff was sprayed around in that context" and he has to live with the consequences.
"I am happy to do whatever Malcolm or others want me to do and I'm prepared to stand in the public square to defend myself," he said.
