The life and achievements of triple Formula One world champion Sir Jack Brabham have been honoured at the English Silverstone circuit.
Brabham, the Australian motorsport legend who died in May, spent most of his career in the United Kingdom and was as big a name there as in his homeland.
More than 400 people attended the memorial including Brabham's widow Lady Margaret, sons David and Geoffrey and grandsons Sam, Matthew and Finn.
Several of the men Brabham battled with on tracks across the globe in the 1950s, 60s and 70s also attended the service including Sir Stirling Moss and Sir Jackie Stewart.
Moss, a 16-time Grand Prix winner, was among those to pay tribute to the man known as "Black Jack".
"Jack lent me a back axle once in Australia, knowing that I might beat him - that was the kind of man he was," Moss said.
"It's a very special occasion to be here today, but then he was a very special man.
"I must say I've had some of my best ever races against him and I remember him with great joy."
Several of Brabham's race cars were on display at the service, including the Brabham BT11/19 and BT20 cars he used in his iconic 1966 world championship campaign.
Current Australian Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo and former F1 racer Mark Webber sent special video messages.
David Brabham said the response was an indication of how many people his father had influenced during his life.
"We had a fantastic response from those wishing to attend and the media interest was staggering," he said.
"It was a marvellous opportunity for friends and fans to get together and remember Black Jack, and also support one of dad's charities, Kidney Research."
