Austrian ski jumper Thomas Morgenstern has left the Salzburg hospital where he had been treated for skull and lung injuries following his training crash last week.
Head of clinic Josef Obrist told the Austria Press Agency on Thursday that Morgenstern is doing surprisingly well: "He still has a memory gap but that's nothing unusual."
Morgenstern has moved to a rehabilitation clinic in Klagenfurt for further recovery. The three-time Olympic champion could still be ready in time to compete at next month's Sochi Games.
Morgenstern lost balance and fell on his back and head during a training jump for a World Cup event in Tauplitz on Friday, less than four weeks after suffering bruises, face cuts and a broken finger in a crash at Titisee-Neustadt, Germany.
