SKorean Son Heung-min joins Spurs in EPL

Tottenham have signed South Korean forward Son Heung-Min on a five-year deal from German soccer outfit Bayer Leverkusen.

South Korean forward Son Heung-Min has joined English Premier League club Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen on a five-year deal.

Tottenham announced the transfer on Friday, with British media reporting the club had paid about STG18 million ($A38.7 million) pounds for Son. The move is subject to Son obtaining a work permit and international clearance.

The 23-year-old Son has spent his professional career in Germany, making his debut for Hamburg in 2010 and then joining Leverkusen in 2013.

Son has scored 10 or more goals in the Bundesliga in each of the past three seasons.

Spurs are rebuilding their strike force, after buying Clinton Njie and selling Roberto Soldado this summer. Another striker, Emmanuel Adebayor, doesn't appear to be part of manager Mauricio Pochettino's plans.
