Slovakia fears clashes with people smugglers

Slovakia's interior minister says he's worried there'll be armed conflict with what he calls aggressive human traffickers on its border with Ukraine.

As tension increasingly turns to violence in Ukraine, there are fears over what it all means for the country's neighbours.

Slovakia's interior minister says he's worried there'll be armed conflict with what he calls aggressive human traffickers on its border with Ukraine.

Slovakia is a transit route for human trafficking into Western Europe.

Interior Minister Robert Kalinak says Ukraine's government has limited control over the situation and those trading in humans are now well armed.

Central Europe correspondent Kerry Skrying began by telling Darren Mara that although Ukraine's west is not as tense as its eastern regions, Slovakia still has grave concerns.
