Five small but shallow earthquakes have been felt within 30 minutes near White Island, in New Zealand's Bay of Plenty.
GeoNet says the quakes struck between 9.25am and 10.18am local time on Thursday, and were of magnitudes between 2.5 and 3.3. All were at a depth less than 10km.
It says no changes have been recorded or seen on the volcano off the coast of Bay of Plenty since the earthquakes started.
The volcanic alert level remains at level one on White Island, which remains in a state of volcanic unrest.
