Tony Smith has extended his contract with English Super League club Warrington, removing speculation linking him with a return to Australia.

Smith will remain as head of coaching and rugby until the end of 2016.

Meanwhile, the club has appointed former Wakefield boss Richard Agar as first-team coach to work under Smith.

Agar quit at the Wildcats just over a week ago and will be part of a new backroom staff at the Wolves, where Smith's current assistant coaches Willie Poching and Richard Marshall will leave at the end of the season.
