AUSTRALIA V INDIA, 4TH TEST AT A GLANCE

STATE OF PLAY - India 0-0 at stumps on day one, trailing Australia by 300 runs.

MAN OF THE DAY - Debutant left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav. Recorded figures of 4-68 on Test debut, including the key scalp of David Warner to turn the match on its head.

KEY STAT - Steve Smith registered his third century in the series. The only other Test skipper to achieve such a feat in India is England's Alastair Cook.

KEY MOMENT - Smith misreads a delivery from star offspinner Ravichandran Ashwin that doesn't turn. Stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane grasps the resultant slips catch as Australia crash to 6-208 on the cusp of tea.

BEST QUOTE - "It's like he's playing a different game. He's the best player in the world at the moment, but he's on track to be one of the greatest players Australia has ever seen," MATTHEW WADE continues to be amazed by Smith's career-best form.
