PLAYER OF THE DAY: Stefanos Tsitsipas - the 20-year-old excitement machine backed up his stunning fourth-round win over defending champion Roger Federer with a four-set victory over Roberto Bautista Agut to become the first Greek man to make a grand slam semi-final.

STAT OF THE DAY: Samantha Stosur is two wins away from her first grand slam title in eight years after reaching the women's doubles semi-final alongside China's Zhang Shuai with a three-set upset win over top-seeded reigning French Open and Wimbledon champions Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova.

TOURNAMENT SUMMARY: Tsitsipas wasn't the only player to break through, with unseeded American Danielle Collins continuing her giantkilling run to reach the semi-finals of the women's event with a three-set comeback win over Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
