Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki is out but Roger Federer remains on track for a ninth men's singles.

SNAPSHOT FROM DAY THREE AT WIMBLEDON

PLAYER OF THE DAY: Ekaterina Makarova - the Russian added a second win over world No.2 Caroline Wozniacki to her grand slam scalps that already include Serena and Venus Williams, Petra Kvitova, Karolina Pliskova, Victoria Azarenka, Angelique Kerber and Agnieszka Radwanska.

STAT OF THE DAY: Croatian giant Ivo Karlovic, the oldest man in major tennis, hammered down 61 aces only for his 39-year-old legs to fail him in an epic 6-7 (5-7) 3-6 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-4) 13-11 four-hour collapse against German Jan-Lennard Struff.

UPSET ALERT: Australian Open champion Wozniacki's loss to Makarova continued the carnage in the women's draw.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "They're in my mouth and in my hair and everywhere - we need to do something. Is there a spray? I want to be here to focus on tennis, not eating bugs." - Wozniacki after becoming the fifth top-eight seed to fall.

TOURNAMENT SUMMARY: Roger Federer remains on track for a record-extending ninth men's singles crown after cruising into the third round without dropping a set, while 2016 runner-up Milos Raonic, world No.13 Sam Querrey and France's Gael Monfils are also through. Both seven-times champion Serena Williams and her five-times champion sister Venus marched on in the women's draw, joining 10th seed Madison Keys, seventh seed Karolina Pliskova and Mihaela Buzarnescu in round three.
