Snow falls in the ACT

Large areas of the Brindabella Ranges, south of Canberra, have been covered in snow following freezing overnight temperatures.

Canberra has experienced an early-season snowfall as parts of the national capital reported the biggest single day of rain this year.

Large areas of the Brindabella Ranges, south of the city, were covered in snow on Wednesday morning following freezing temperatures overnight.

There were reports from some areas of the ACT of up to 70mm of rain in the 24 hours to 9am.
