Snowden signs two-year Knights extension

Kade Snowden and Jake Mamo have extended their time at the Newcastle Knights.

Newcastle have received a boost ahead of their round nine NRL clash with Manly with front-rower Kade Snowden and fullback Jake Mamo both signing two-year contract extensions with the Knights.

Snowden who was a Newcastle junior is viewing it as an opportunity to finish his career with his hometown club, with the extension taking him through to his 30th birthday.

"Newcastle is a great place to live and a great team to play for," Snowden said.

"I never wanted to go anywhere else, so I am happy to be staying here.

"It is a massive honour to get another two years. It could see me out and I would be very happy to finish my career here."

Mamo, who is just 20 is viewing his new deal as an opportunity to cement a first grade spot under coach Rick Stone.

"I have spoken to `Stoney' and he expressed there will be opportunities for me here so I am happy to be staying at the Knights," Mamo said.

"Going forward, I would like to make it as a fullback. I know I have a lot of work ahead of me, but I am happy to do that."
