Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou says Australia will put up a fight at next year's World Cup regardless of the quality of their opposition.
Postecoglou arrived in Brazil on Tuesday as part of an Australian delegation attending the 2014 World Cup draw in Salvador on Saturday morning (AEDT).
The Socceroos will be the lowest-ranked nation heading to the tournament beginning in June, placed at world No.59 by FIFA last week.
How that ranking affects the draw will become clearer when FIFA announces its pot system on Thursday morning.
"We're all anxious to see what group we are drawn in but for us we're looking forward to whatever challenge the draw throws up and we will tackle it with the spirit that Australians have always been renowned for," Postecoglou said.
"While we are looking forward to seeing who we draw in the group stage, it also allows us to really start preparations to make sure we are ready for whatever comes our way when the World Cup starts in June next year.
"Scouting opposition, travelling to watch the Socceroos players in action for their clubs, logistics, hotels, flights and warm up games are part of the meticulous planning we will be putting in place to make sure we do our best to start the tournament on the front foot."
