Alpine Super-G
After a dramatic Super-G race, Austrian Anna Fenninger came out on top, clocking in 1min 25.52 sec to claim gold.
Germany's Maria Hoefl-Riesch won silver and Austria’s Nicole Hosp took bronze.
The demanding course took its toll on the competitors – of the top 30 racers, 12 skiers failed to finish the course including Australia’s Greta Small.
Cross-Country 4x5km relay
Sweden got the gold in the 4x5km relay followed by Finland and Germany. Norway was expected to rank high but only managed to reach fifth place.
Speed Skating 1500m
Australia’s Deanna Lockett landed in fifth place in her 1500m heat, failing to progress to the quarterfinal.
China’s Yang Zhou raced to gold followed by South Korea’s Suk Hee Shim and Italy’s Arianna Fontana, winning Silver and Bronze respectively.
MEN
Large hill ski jumping
Poland’s Kamil Stoch scored his second gold of this year’s games during the men’s large hill ski jumping finals. Japan’s Noriaki Kasai finished in second with Slovenia’s Peter Prevc in third.
Speed skating 1000m and 1500m
Russians Victor An and Vladimir Grigorev took gold and silver in the men’s 1000m short track race followed by Sjinkie Knegt of the Netherlands who took bronze.
In the 1500m, Poland’s Zbigniew Brodka won gold followed by Koen Verweij of the Netherlands and Denny Morrison of Canada.
Skeleton
Aussie John Farrow landed in 17th place in the men’s heat while Russia’s Alexander Tretiakov, Latvia’s Martins Dukurs and Matthew Antoine of the US scored the top three spots.
