Social media link to nude beach body

Police are still trying to piece together how a man whose body was found on a walking track near an isolated nudist beach south of Sydney died.

A man found dead near a nudist beach south of Sydney travelled to the remote location with two other men he met on social media, police say.

The body of Jarrod Dark, 45, was discovered early on Tuesday morning on a walking track to Werrong Beach also known as Hell Hole Beach, near Otford.

Police said Mr Dark, who was from Fairfield in Sydney's west, travelled to the remote location with two men, aged 43 and 37, who he had met via social media.

The men claim they were forced to restrain Mr Dark after he became violent.

They left Mr Dark near the beach before seeking medical treatment at Canterbury Hospital for head injuries they suffered during the altercation.

They also contacted police about the incident.

Soon after being contacted by the men, officers discovered Mr Dark's body in the remote location.

The men were questioned by detectives and were released without charge.

Police are yet to determine a cause of death and are continuing their investigations.
