Emma Moffatt has finished a solid sixth in the Chicago round of the world series triathlon - the Australian's penultimate outing before the Commonwealth Games.
Wollongong-based American Gwen Jorgensen won a record sixth world series race when she crossed the finish line 20 seconds ahead of Helen Jenkins, who will represent Wales in next month's Games in Glasgow.
Jorgensen won in a time of one hour 55 minutes and 33 seconds, with her sixth victory overtaking the five claimed by Moffatt and Paula Findlay of Canada since the world series began in 2009.
Despite fading in the run leg, two-time world champion Moffatt will be encouraged by her performance.
The Queenslander will now head to Europe, racing in the sprint format round in Hamburg on July 15 before turning her attention to her Commonwealth debut.
Australia's under-23 world champion Charlotte McShane was 10th, having trained alongside Jorgensen with Jamie Turner's Wollongong Wizards squad.
"The girls will all be encouraged by their efforts - certainly an improvement for Emma, so that's a good sign and Charlotte put herself in the game with a great swim," said Triathlon Australia national performance director Bernard Savage.
Four-time world champion Bill Chaffey from Australia won the para-triathlon event in Chicago.
Chaffey showed all his class to stop the clock at 1:02:04 over the 750m swim in Lake Michigan, the 20km bike (handcyle) and 5km run (wheelchair) in the hot and humid conditions to beat home Americans Krige Schubert and Geoffrey Kennedy in the PT1 class.
Brant Garvey won silver in the PT2 class for Australia and Jack Swift claimed bronze in the PT4 class.
