Some Monis bail papers to remain secret

A coroner has upheld a claim of legal professional privilege over some of the documents relating to how Sydney siege gunman Man Haron Monis was on bail.

The NSW public prosecutor has had partial success in keeping some documents relating to the bail of Sydney siege gunman Man Haron Monis secret when an inquest into the tragedy resumes on Monday.

The NSW Coroner has upheld claims of confidentiality sought by the Director of Public Prosecutions over many communications between DPP solicitors and police relating to a potential review of Monis's bail.

The claim for confidentiality on some communications was rejected, and they will now be available to lawyers for the families of victims of the December, 2014 siege.
