Sonic buys Medical Laboratory Bremen

Sonic Healthcare has bought Medical Laboratory Bremen, which is expected to be earnings per share accretive by about two per cent in the first year.

Pathology and radiology services provider Sonic Healthcare has snapped-up Medical Laboratory Bremen for EUR63 million ($A89 million), boostings its presence in Germany.

MLB operates two laboratories, in the German cities of Bremen and Celle, and is managed by its five pathologist partners who will remain with Sonic.

The group has revenues of approximately EUR30 million annually and employs 275 staff, including nine specialists in laboratory medicine.
