South Sydney back-rower Ben Lowe has retired from the NRL due to injury.
The 30-year-old played 117 games for the Rabbitohs between 2008 and 2015.
He last played in Souths' thrashing of Newcastle two weeks ago, missing the win over Penrith due to a biceps injury.
Lowe announced the move on Wednesday, a decision he said was made with a heavy heart.
"Due to injuries I've had to make the difficult decision to retire from football immediately," Lowe said.

"It hasn't been the easiest decision to make but after long conversations with family and loved ones it was the best for my welfare and the best for my family as we head into life after football.
"I would like to take the opportunity to thank Madge (Rabbitohs coach Michael Maguire), the coaching staff and all the boys for their understanding in my decision."
Maguire said Lowe's departure was a loss for the club.
"Benny is one of the hardest working players we have at our club and he has been a major contributor to the culture within this club today," Maguire said.
