Souths sign Cody Walker for 2015 and 2016

Souths have signed Queensland Cup player of the year Cody Walker on a two-year NRL deal beginning in 2015.

South Sydney have moved to bolster their playmaking stocks for next year and beyond, signing Queensland Cup player of the year Cody Walker for the 2015 and 2016 NRL seasons.

The 24-year-old Walker has played with Melbourne's Queensland Rugby League affiliate Easts Tigers for the past two seasons.

Souths coach Michael Maguire recently reiterated the possibility of John Sutton making a permanent move to the back-row and Walker, who is yet to make his NRL debut, adds another option in the Rabbitohs halves alongside Adam Reynolds and Luke Keary.

"Cody has been on our radar for a while and we're pleased to have secured his services for the next two seasons," Maguire said.

"He's proven himself at Queensland Cup level and we're looking forward to working with him and introducing him to our fulltime squad next season."
