Speaker Bronwyn Bishop did not attend a plaque unveiling for MH17 victims at Parliament House, despite being on the guest list.

According to the official program, Mrs Bishop was supposed to place a floral tribute at the foot of the memorial plaque on Friday.

The Speaker has faced criticism this week over her use of taxpayers' funds - which she has now agreed to pay back - to charter a helicopter to a Liberal fundraiser in Victoria last November.
