Spedding denies Tyrrell link in video

Bill Spedding, a person of interest in the disappearance of William Tyrrell, says he had nothing to do with the boy going missing in NSW.

A person of interest in the investigation into the disappearance of three-year-old William Tyrrell in NSW has denied any involvement and offered "sincere commiserations" to the boy's family

White goods repairman Bill Spedding's grainy, homemade video came just days before thousands are expected to take part in several events to mark one year since the boy went missing from his grandmother's front yard in Kendall on September 12, 2014.

"I wish to state that I have had no involvement whatsoever in the disappearance of William Tyrrell," Mr Spedding said in the video, posted on Wednesday.

The 63-year-old had two of his properties near Bonny Hills searched in January and items including a mattress, computer and vehicles seized by police.

A later tip-off to police also led to a three-day search of bushland around Bonny Hills in March.

Police said they were aware of the video but had no further comment.
