A person of interest in the disappearance of toddler William Tyrrell will have to wait until Friday to learn if his bail application was successful.

White goods repairman William Spedding was charged in April with sexually abusing two girls, aged three and six, in Sydney in 1987.

He made a bid for bail in the NSW Supreme Court on Wednesday, but the judgment will not be made until the end of the week.

The historical offences were uncovered by detectives investigating the disappearance of three-year-old William on the NSW Mid North Coast last September.

Spedding has denied any involvement in the missing child's case.
